And some more trivia: * A full-size Pteranodon suit was made but it was never used in JP III. * Director Joe Johnston created the famous Spinosaurus vs T-Rex fight as a homage to Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion dinosaurs and he wanted to recreate a contemporary version of those fights. * Originally, Udesky was going to be killed in the initial Spinosaurus attack leaving Nash to be killed by the Velociraptors. Then, their roles were swapped. * John Williams was contacted to write the music for JP III but he was busy writing the music for Steven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Don Davis was chosen as composer at Williams' recommendation. * The flare gun used in JP III had reversed colors; the handle was orange and the gun itself was black. * It was the last JP film to be produced in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. * The other reason the T-Rex was not featured in JP III is because the animatronic puppet was damaged at the neck and it was too extortionate to get it repaired. They instead changed the outcome of the Spinosaurus vs. T-Rex fight to have the T-Rex's neck broken and let the Spinosaurus win.
Here’s some trivia: * Jurassic Park III is the first film in the franchise that a T-Rex is killed (by the Spinosaurus) and a Raptor is not. * The ringing of William H. Macy’s character Mr Kirby’s satellite phone on the Spinosaurus’ stomach is a homage to the crocodile from Peter Pan, who had swallowed an alarm clock that went off every time it was near, thus alerting others to its presence. • It is the first JP film without a book counterpart. * The first of the JP movies not scored by John Williams. * The vocalisations of the Spinosaurus were created by mixing together the low guttural sounds of a lion and an alligator, a bear cub crying and a lengthened cry of a large bird that gave the roars a raspy quality. * Spinosaurus is the only dinosaur in the JP films that is able to survive or at least win in a fight with a T-Rex. Though the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World could be deadly enough to kill a T-Rex, as it was able to overpower Rexy prior to the Velociraptor Blue intervened.
