Have you ever thought about the fact that womens breasts are not censored on National Geographic documentaries and that pictures of the human body in Science books are readily available to be viewed by people of all ages? That is because the context in which they are presented is for educational purposes. The reason that Playboy is regulated to those 18 and older is because it is presented in a sexual manner. There are countless studies that show the potential damages caused by early exposure to sexualised materials. I’m not saying that the human body is something that should be taboo but children do not have the emotional maturity to understand sexuality and all of the responsibilities and consequences that come with sexual behavior. Federal law says that Playboy is pornographic in nature, thus the age limit on purchases.
